Crack Filling

Crack filling compounds are formulated to repair, seal, and strengthen cracks in concrete, plaster, and masonry surfaces. Designed to restore integrity and prevent water ingress, these materials enhance durability and ensure a smooth surface finish prior to painting or coating.

USES

Crack fillers are used across residential, commercial, and industrial spaces for repairing:

  • Cracks in internal/external walls and ceilings
  • Hairline and structural cracks in plaster and concrete
  • Floor cracks in driveways, terraces, and industrial slabs
  • Water seepage points in bathrooms, basements, and roofs
  • Control joints and gaps around doors/windows

METHOD OF USE

Surface Preparation

  • Clean the crack area thoroughly to remove dust, loose particles, grease, and moisture.
  • For structural cracks, widen the crack slightly (V-groove) to ensure proper filler penetration.
  • Dampen the surface lightly before applying cement-based fillers. Do not leave standing water.

Application

  • Cement-based: Mix with clean water to a creamy consistency and apply with a putty knife or trowel.
  • Epoxy-based: Mix resin and hardener as per manufacturer instructions. Inject or trowel into cracks.
  • Acrylic-based: Apply directly from cartridge or tub using a putty knife. Smooth surface immediately.

Curing

  • Cement-based fillers should be cured with water lightly after initial setting for 24 hours.
  • Epoxy and acrylic fillers generally self-cure; avoid water or disturbance during curing period.
  • Ensure proper drying before painting or waterproofing (typically 24–48 hours).

KEY FEATURES

  • Flexibility: Acrylic fillers accommodate thermal movement and prevent crack recurrence.
  • Water Resistance: Blocks moisture ingress, preventing seepage and dampness.
  • Paintability: Once dry, surfaces can be sanded and painted over seamlessly.
  • Non-Shrinking: Formulated to retain volume post-curing for long-lasting results.
  • Fiber Reinforcement: Some fillers include microfibers for added strength and bridging ability.
  • Ease of Use: Available in multiple forms—paste, powder, or cartridge—for convenient application.
  • Weather & UV Resistance: Suitable for internal and external repairs.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Always select filler type based on crack nature (static/dynamic) and substrate material.
  • Avoid application during extreme temperatures (below 10°C or above 40°C).
  • Use protective gear—gloves, goggles—during mixing and application.

  • Provides strong adhesion to plaster, concrete, and masonry surfaces.

  • Seals cracks to prevent moisture and seepage infiltration effectively.

  • Remains flexible to minor surface movement or expansion.

  • Non-toxic formulation—safe for indoor residential & commercial use.

  • Paintable surface for smooth blending with existing wall finishes.

  • Highly durable under varying weather and UV exposure conditions.

  • Easy to apply using simple tools like putty knife or trowel.

  • Non-shrinking compound ensures long-lasting, crack-free repairs.

STORAGE

Store in dry cool place in the temperature range from 5⁰C to 30⁰C in sealed condition. Do not allow to freeze. Keep away from direct sunlight. SHELF LIFE – 18 Months

HEALTH & SAFETY

Exercise caution and use protective clothing such as gloves and goggles. Inhalation of vapor or mist should be avoided. If inhaled symptoms include coughing, wheezing, laryngitis, and shortness of breath, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Immediately shift victim to fresh air & if need be start artificial respiration. Give oxygen if breathing is labored & call emergency medical help. In case of eye contact flush with water for 15 minutes and call for medical help. If swallowed will cause nausea, vomiting, and loss of consciousness. Do not induce vomiting rather call for medical help. If contact with skin flush with water/soap & water until all traces are removed. Seek medical attention if required.
